Terms of Service

These Terms are a binding contract between you and Yinan Zhai (operating as “Phantom”, “we”, “us”) governing your use of the Phantom iOS application. By creating an account or otherwise using Phantom, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Phantom.

2. What Phantom does

Phantom is a subscription management tool that helps you:

• Identify recurring charges from screenshots of your bank app or statements
• Score subscriptions on likelihood of being unused (“zombie”)
• Draft dispute letters in your name that you may send to merchants
• Receive on-device notifications about price hikes and trial endings
• Access negotiation scripts

Phantom is not a financial advisor, lender, debt collector, money transmitter, broker, or party to any subscription you have with a third-party merchant. We do not move money. We do not have access to your bank account.

3. Your account

Phantom is anonymous-by-default. You are responsible for any data you put in the app. Keep your iPhone unlocked and secure.

4. Phantom Pro subscription

Pricing:

• Free tier — basic detection, limited monthly imports
• Phantom Pro Monthly — $3.99/month, auto-renewing
• Phantom Pro Annual — $29.99/year, auto-renewing

All purchases are billed by Apple via the App Store. Subscriptions auto-renew unless you cancel ≥24 hours before renewal in iOS Settings → [your Apple ID] → Subscriptions, or via the deep link in Phantom → Settings → Manage subscription.

Refunds: subject to Apple’s refund policy — request via reportaproblem.apple.com.

5. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

• Use Phantom for any illegal purpose, including filing fraudulent dispute letters
• Misrepresent facts in dispute letters generated through Phantom
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code (except as permitted by law)
• Use Phantom to handle data of accounts that are not your own
• Resell or sublicense the Service

6. Dispute letter generator — important disclosures

The dispute letter generator produces template language. By using it you acknowledge:

• Letters are generated from your inputs. We don’t verify the underlying facts. Filing a false dispute may be a crime.
• Legal citations (EFTA, ROSCA, Regulation E, etc.) are accurate as of the effective date but laws change. Consult a lawyer for high-value disputes.
• We do not guarantee any specific refund outcome.
• You authorize each letter individually; Phantom does not send letters automatically.

7. Intellectual property

Phantom’s code, design, copy, and the Zombie Score algorithm are owned by us. You may not copy them. You retain ownership of content you input.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS”. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF $100 OR WHAT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

10. Termination

You may terminate by deleting your account in Settings → Account → Delete account. We may terminate for cause with notice. Sections 6–11 survive.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Delaware, USA without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved by binding individual arbitration under AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules. You may opt out within 30 days of first creating an account by emailing yn.zhai0205@gmail.com (legal) with subject “Arbitration opt-out”.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified at least 30 days in advance.
